Finding Her Voice: Inka Magnaye Shares Her Secrets to Sustainable Content Creation at VoiceCon 2025

Manila, Philippines – 26 April 2025 — It was the last segment on the program, it was worth all the wait. At VoiceCon held at SMX Mall of Asia, renowned voiceover artist and digital content creator Inka Magnaye offered a heartfelt glimpse into her personal journey—from overcoming early fears to becoming one of the most recognizable voices in Philippine media.

It’s almost like the audience came for Inka Magnaye. Speaking to a packed audience of 500 eager students and young professionals, some coming from parts of Luzon and from Mindanao, Inka talked about discovering her voice at age five and the long process of learning to embrace it. “I never liked listening to my voice. After I do the work, that’s it.” It was her father that made her change that perspective.

Daughter to Gerry and Lindy Magnaye—both well known veterans of Philippine advertising and radio broadcasting, Inka grew up under the wing of the industry. Dad Gerry made her listen to her work. Eventually, Inka realized its importance: Listening to her work was the best way to improve her craft.

Today, she is a vibrant and moving voice actor, podcaster and content creator that simply breathes new life into her craft. Inka is the picture of courage and talent, and confident youth. It’s no wonder she has amassed a fandom of such magnitude. Note, all the young impressionable souls attending VoiceCon, especially the ones lucky to join the Q&A with her practically melted in her presence.

But Inka is also very much the professional. Also serving as PRO of the Creator and Influencer Council of the Philippines (CICP), Inka speaks with expertise born of years honing her craft. Speaking candidly about the double-edged sword of going viral, Inka shared her own lamentable experience with bashers, with comments like: Why use the word succulent when you can use the word juicy. Inka ends this tale with hearty laughter. No, this young lady will not be smart-shamed.

With online fame comes a wave of scrutiny and negativity. Says Inka, “The scariest part of going viral is you have so many people who don’t know who you are, who see five seconds of your entire life, and they’ll judge you based on those five seconds, and they’ll think, I hate her. They will use that as justification to tell me how ugly they think my teeth are, how ugly dark skin is.”

Inka has only this to say to detractors, “I love myself in the best way, in the best way

And I don’t say that I love myself in a very conceited, self serving way. I love myself genuinely. It took a while for me to get here, because one of the things that I learned is that you can escape bashers. You can turn off your phone. You can log off. You can choose to avoid toxic (people)… but the only person you can never escape is yourself.”

Hence the call for authenticity. Just as her voice is, so is her message as crystal clear: Authenticity, persistence, and personal growth are the pillars of sustainable success.

As her panel wrapped up, so did VoiceCon. It’s not a stretch to state the audience left with a wonderful feeling of inspiration and creativity and newfound confidence thanks to this young content creator pushing for truth and positivity.

For those hoping to follow in her footsteps and give voice acting and content creation a try, here’s Inka’s go to list of tips and hacks.

1. Start With Self-Discovery

Understand what makes you unique. Let your core identity guide your content, not fleeting trends.

2. Stay Consistent, Even When It’s Quiet

Viral moments may be rare, but consistency builds momentum. One view can be all it takes to open the right door, citing her role in the Philippine release of Blue Beetle as an example of opportunity meeting preparation.

3. Protect Your Brand Integrity

Authenticity isn’t just an aesthetic—it’s the foundation of a lasting presence. Inka encourages creators to stay aligned with their values and to use their platforms to champion causes that matter.
