I am MAD Volunteers Celebrates 15 Years of Volunteerism, Launches New Campaign with Support from The New Channel
I am MAD (Making A Difference) Volunteers Inc., a volunteer-powered nonprofit, marked a powerful milestone with the celebration of its 15th anniversary and the launch of its newest campaign, “I am Powered by Volunteer15m – I am MAD: 15 Years of Heartfelt M15sion.” The annual MAD Meet reunion took place in Baguio City, where the organization’s journey began in 2009.
The theme, “I am Powered by Volunteer15m,” is a tribute to the passion, commitment, and love that fuel every I am MAD outreach. It honors the spirit of volunteerism that has empowered nearly 1,000 active MADmates to bring hope to underserved Filipino communities for the past 15 years.
The event brought full-circle memories for founders Maco Ravanzo and Christian Marx Rivero, who first envisioned the organization amid Baguio’s pine-lined streets. “What began as a simple dream has grown into a thriving community of changemakers,” Ravanzo shared. “Being back here with our volunteers is a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come—and the greater impact we can still create together.”
Honoring Volunteer Leaders, Launching New Campaigns

One of the celebration’s highlights was the presentation of the ‘Alab ng Puso’ Beacon of Volunteerism Award to 15 exceptional volunteers for their outstanding contributions through the years. Additionally, the event recognized key outreach leaders from 2024 and onboarded 63 new volunteers—marking a new wave of energized community advocates.
The event also showcased a cultural performance by the Uschong Cultural Ensemble and concluded with a heartfelt tribute to the founders, who were surprised by messages of gratitude and photo memorabilia.
A Historic 100th MAD Camp and Next-Gen Builders Training

Coinciding with the anniversary was the historic 100th MAD Camp, held in Barangay Puguil, Santol, La Union. This special edition served not only as a values formation outreach for children but also as the second Builders Camp, a leadership training initiative for aspiring volunteer leaders.
Ten emerging “builders” were selected from over a hundred applicants to undergo immersive training in program facilitation, logistics, and community engagement. Senior MAD volunteers served as mentors, preparing the next generation of changemakers with both heart and skill.
Despite the steep terrain, volunteers brought energy and compassion to the community, offering stories, games, and safe spaces for reflection through MAD Talks Padayon. La Union Governor Rafy Ortega-David expressed his admiration for the group and pledged continued support for future initiatives.
The New Channel Joins the Mission

As I am MAD continues to grow its impact, the organization is proud to be supported by The New Channel. The New Channel shares I am MAD’s mission to uplift communities through inclusive, innovative platforms and meaningful storytelling—amplifying the voices of everyday changemakers.
