The 1st Cotabato ICT Summit 2026 officially kicked off on a high note as Day 1 successfully opened with an exciting Pitching Competition held at the Commercial Building of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM). The activity set the tone for a dynamic and forward-looking summit focused on innovation, collaboration, and inclusive digital growth in Cotabato Province.
The event was organized by the Cotabato Academe-Private Sector Technology Alliance for Learning, Innovation, Science and Technopreneurship (CATALIST), in partnership with the University of Southern Mindanao, through its Technology Business Incubator (TBI). This collaboration highlights the strong synergy between the academe and the private sector in nurturing innovation and technopreneurship in the region.
Day 1 gathered brilliant and passionate student innovators from various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), including North Valley College Foundation Incorporated, Colegio de Kidapawan, Central Mindanao Colleges, and the host university, University of Southern Mindanao. With more than 16 competing entries, the pitching competition showcased a wide range of creative, technology-driven, and solution-oriented ideas—each reflecting the rapidly growing ICT ecosystem in Cotabato and nearby areas.
The enthusiasm, determination, and ingenuity demonstrated by the participating teams truly raised the bar for the summit. Their presentations underscored how innovation, when supported by mentorship and collaboration, can address real-world challenges and open new opportunities for digital and economic growth.
