From the World Back to Home: Riza Rasco launches a New Book about her travels and her inner purpose

December 2025 | Coming home to Los Baños is an exciting time for Dr. Riza Rasco as she ends another amazing year.

“Standing in a place that shaped me — surrounded by familiar faces, warm conversations, and genuine support — reminded me why this town will always feel like home. Thank you to everyone who came to the book signing, who showed up with open hearts, and who reminded me that no matter how far life takes us, some places never stop calling us back.”

The homecoming is more than an event. It was a quiet full-circle moment for Rasco as she returns to her hometown, Los Banos, Laguna to launch her newest book.

The World Is My Mirror carries these stories — of roots and journeys, of leaving, losing, and eventually finding your way back. It is a memoir of reinvention, tracing Rasco’s path from a driven scientist and corporate executive through grief, burnout, and a midlife unraveling, into a decade of deep travel across every country in the world.

Along the way, cultures became her classroom, landscapes her teachers, and strangers her mirrors. Travel reflected parts of herself she hadn’t yet seen — helping her heal, rediscover purpose, and redefine what “home” truly means.

In learning about the world, she learned how to return to herself.

TNC is proud to celebrate this new milestone of Dr. Riza Rasco, who has been named one of the honorary profiles of Global Women Who RULE (GWWR) 2024.

Global Women Who RULE (GWWR) honors exceptional Filipino women from across the globe whose leadership, expertise, and dedication have made a lasting impact in their respective fields. Amazon 5 ⭐️ Book Review: Testimonial from T. Jones of DuPont

The World is My Mirror: A Memoir of Finding Purpose and Self on a Global Exploration

Reviewed in the United States of America on 11 November 2025

Riza Rasco’s book, The World is My Mirror”, is an honest, authentic, fearless, and profoundly moving account of her life as she pursued the challenge of becoming the first Filipina to visit every country on earth, and all 82 provinces of the Philippines. In the tradition of the best travel writing, Ms. Rasco’s book is part memoir, part travelogue, part meditation, and total inspiration. In full disclosure, I was a former colleague and friend of Riza’s at DuPont and, later, DuPont Pioneer. I knew Riza well and was aware of her travels, following along via her blog and various media postings. I had enjoyed travelling with her vicariously as she described her encounters with new places, people, and cultures. But this book proved to be a revelation.

Next book signing is scheduled at the author’s favorite coffee shop (Liminivl Cofee) in Tagaytay City, a place she calls home. Trivia: The place is where she wrote the final chapters (Part III) of the book on 28 December 2025.

What the Book is All About

The World Is My Mirror is a memoir of reinvention. It traces my journey from a driven scientist and corporate executive through grief, burnout, and a midlife unraveling, to a decade of deep travel across every country in the world. Through encounters with cultures, landscapes, and communities, the book explores how travel became both my teacher and my mirror — reflecting hidden parts of myself, helping me heal, and guiding me toward purpose, service, and a more grounded sense of home.
