The Kiwanis Club of Kalayaan is set to make history once again as it hosts the 40th Kiwanis Special Games, a meaningful and much-anticipated event dedicated to celebrating children with special needs through sports, inclusion, and community spirit.
Scheduled on Sunday, 18 January 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM PHT, the event will take place at the Marikina Sports Center, bringing together children, families, volunteers, educators, and advocates for an afternoon filled with joy, encouragement, and empowerment.
A Legacy of Impact and Inclusion
The Kiwanis Special Games is a signature project of the Kiwanis Club of Kalayaan and a proud recipient of the Silver Award for Signature Project at the 2025 Kiwanis International Convention in Denver, Colorado, USA. This global recognition highlights the club’s sustained commitment to serving children with special needs and fostering inclusive communities.
Now on its 40th year, the Special Games continues to stand as a testament to the power of compassion, volunteerism, and unity—creating a safe and celebratory space where every child is recognized, valued, and cheered on.
What to Expect at the 40th Kiwanis Special Games
This year’s event is expected to be one of the largest yet, welcoming:
- 500 children with special needs from 25 schools across Metro Manila
- 200 dedicated coaches and parents
- 300 volunteers
- An estimated 3,000 spectators, including families, friends, Kiwanis members, and advocates
Participants will take part in a variety of fun, adaptive sports and games designed to highlight ability, build confidence, and encourage teamwork—ensuring that every child experiences the joy of participation and achievement.

The 40th Kiwanis Special Games also forms part of the Kiwanis Week Celebration, inviting members and the wider community to spend this special week serving and celebrating kids with special needs. The event reinforces Kiwanis’ global mission of improving the world—one child and one community at a time.
